Unwrap continued

1. Next>

This is a model from max and so will give me some intersting problems (as would a file from maya or xsi)

I have stated by cutting a loop around each arm, around the bottom of the coller and running down the sides of the shirt as well as down the insides of the arms. (sort of like a shirt in real life) I try use as few seams as i can. And the ones i do make i place under the arm or in naturaly occuring seams. I have looked it over and in my head this should unwrap with out folding on its self, so i will go and try unfloding it. (save first as this can be a little buggy)

This first time I got an error and had to start again. (the problem area is i think the coller) in may max file this was a seperate element that had normals facing the other way. So ill start again and detatch the coller. (this is the rule for fixing any problem in 3d it seems. Cut away from the model until your tool works.)

New problem, When I go, UV mapping>direct it gives me this rather then a new window. The reason: some texture info has snuck in from max. Select evertying in the uv window and right click>delete. then shut the window and try uv>direct again.

This time it worked. Although im not happy with how the front of the shirt has far less texture space then the back. So i will make some more hard edges and try again.

Remember select all delete to clear the UVs
